Our PhilosophyThe Body as a Whole The body has a broad spectrum of physical and metaphysical – spiritual, mental, psychological, and energetic components - that factor into a healthy mind and body. These singular components are vitally entwined and must reach complete balance in order to attain a healthy state. Throughout history there have been many forms of medicine and healing. Each has contributed extensively to our understanding of the body, yet they remain insufficient as sole explanations of health and disease. Modern Western medicine has excelled in balancing quantifiable aspects of the body. Eastern healing arts have placed a higher emphasis on the metaphysical aspects of body. Although magnificent in each of their own respects, they only attain completion in holistically treating the body once they are harmoniously merged together. Information about Eastern Practices is Rare At the present time, an enormous amount of information is available from a Western medical perspective. On the contrary, less information is available about other traditions of healing. Examples include, the energetic of herbs found in Chinese medicine, the concept of activating the vital force within the body to correct itself outlined in Homeopathy, and Sufi healing as in the Islamic medical tradition, along with many others. Due to the void of information on these topics this website will endeavor to provide a holistic perspective on a range of health concerns , placing particular emphasis on the under addressed alternative perspectives on healthcare, namely the Eastern medical traditions. The Mystics and their Medicine Specifically, within the umbrella of Eastern Medicine, Sufis, or Mystics, enjoy a legacy of treating complex medical problems. Despite the rich benefits of this tradition, it remains by and large inaccessible in terms of its complete teachings. There have been attempts to replicate the Mystics' success, but the teachings commonly remain somewhat diluted. As such, they fall short by avoiding the most complex concepts. The Sufis' secret instead lies in their addressing existential questions and discussing the reality behind experiences, whose distorted perceptions are, according to them, the cause of long-term pain and suffering. In this regard, despite all the other expert contributors who add to this website, the most unique feature of this website will be the spiritual insights provided by a living Sufi Master. |
